Imagine all the people: Record-breaking number of visitors in the run up to 25th anniversary year
The Beatles Story has welcomed record-breaking numbers of visitors in the run up to our 25th anniversary.
We're celebrating the news that we have welcomed a staggering 253,096 visitors from all corners of the world this financial year. This is 2,599 more customers than last year (250,497) and 11,353 more than the year before (241,743). Since we opened our doors in 1990, a total of 4 million guests have visited the Beatles Story, with visitor numbers growing year on year.
We're also celebrating being short-listed in two categories in the prestigious Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards. The Beatles Story has been nominated for both 'Large Visitor Attraction of the Year' and for ‘Tourism Marketing Campaign of the Year’ for our exhibition The British Invasion: How 1960s beat groups conquered America, which opened in November and is co-curated with the prestigious GRAMMY Museum in L.A.
St. George's Hall: Venue to the awards
The high-profile awards event, which will recognise the very best in tourism that the Liverpool City Region has to offer, will take place on Thursday 21st May at St. George’s Hall. This is a great start to the year as we celebrate our 25th year with a star studded event on the Albert Dock on 1st May.
Martin King of the Beatles Story said: “It is testament to the dedication and professionalism of the Beatles Story team that after 25 years we have welcomed 4 million visitors and made a £300m contribution to the local economy and are still enjoying record visitor numbers, which keep rising year after year. The world loves The Beatles, the city of Liverpool and the Beatles Story.”
“To be shortlisted for two categories in the Liverpool Tourism Awards just adds to the fantastic year we are having and we are very much looking forward to the awards ceremony and our anniversary event in May.”
