Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunite to pay tribute to The Beatles' invasion on the USA

The two remaining Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were reunited on-stage for the first time since 2010 at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night (26th January). Paul and Ringo performed Queenie Eye, a song off Paul McCartney's album that he released in 2013, New.

Earlier in the night Ringo performed his 1973 single Photograph, which sold over 1,000,000 copies in the USA.

As well as performing, Paul received five awards on the night making the 56th Annual Grammy Awards Paul's most successful Grammy Awards to date. The five awards that Paul won were:
  • Best Rock Song (for Cut Me Some Slack)
  • Best Surround Sound Album (for Live Kisses)
  • Best Music Film (for Live Kisses)
  • Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package (for Wings Over America)
  • Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award (Paul and Ringo received this award on behalf of The Beatles)
The following night (27th January) Paul and Ringo were reunited once again to record some footage for an upcoming television show entitled The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles. The show will be shown on CBS in the USA on February 9th, on the 50th anniversary of the legendary episode of The Ed Sullivan Show on which The Beatles captured a USA rating record of 72.7%.

During the show Ringo told the crowd, "We were in a band called The Beatles and whenever we play George and John are always with us."
